In July 2013 my very precious Grandmother passed away while I held her hand in a London hospital. It was possibly the saddest day of my life and the most profoundly spiritual.
Whilst sorting through my things at the house she shared with my mother, I found a little Knitted Nativity set that a friend had given me several years before.
I brought them home to my little house in Wales, where I now live near the sea, thinking that I had to de-clutter my life and put them on ebay. When I took photo's of them, a little creative spark ignited in my head and I found them totally delightful. Not only could I no longer part with them, but I started taking lots of photos of them and laughing my head off.
Humour and laughter has been a really important part of the grieving process for my mum and me, and those close to us as we learn to live without Gran in our lives, and bear the hole that she left.
Gran would have loved The Knitivity and their quirky little pictures and captions, she had a wonderful sense of humour and often brought tears of laughter to our eyes with her antics.
I'd like to dedicate this blog to her, and to all who are mourning a loss.
Lets laugh together, and heal.
